Leeroy Gandy has a passion for making Barn Quilts featuring local birds. These 2ft x 2 ft art works can be put up outside or inside. We dare you to just make one!
In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn:
- How to prepare your barn quilt board for long-lasting outdoor use
- Step-by-step painting techniques for crisp lines and vibrant colors
- Tips for designing and finishing your barn quilt for a professional look
Mr. Gandy has prepared all of the boards so you can start right in on your project.
This goldfinch barn quilt pattern is inspired by the beauty of nature, making it a perfect project for bird lovers, quilters, and outdoor decor enthusiasts alike! All materials, including pre-primed boards, paints, and brushes, are included.
Supplies needed: just a lunch and a drink, and clothes that might get paint on them. This workshop is in Mr. Gandy's large and comfortable workshop.

| Skill Details: | No prior artistic experience is necessary—all skill levels are welcome! Whether you're a seasoned painter or picking up a brush for the first time, our instructors will provide instruction to help you. |
| Materials Included: | 2' x 2' painted prepped board, bird templates sketched on boards, paint, yardsticks, ruler, pencil, sanding block, popsicle stick, single edge razor blade, frog tape, paper towels, plastic spoon, cups and Barn Quilt Map |
| Requirements: | Come ready to have fun, learn about barn quilts, and make your own. Choose from a variety of birds that can be made with small modifications to the template. This is a great addition to your backyard, porch, or barn. |
