Foundation Paper Piecing for Beginners Series
Ready to fall in love with Foundation Paper Piecing (FPP)? This beginner-friendly, five-part series is designed to build your confidence step by step while keeping things fun, approachable, and totally achievable — even if you’ve never tried FPP before.
Over five sessions, you’ll learn the essential skills that turn wonky points into crisp perfection: fabric placement, paper alignment, trimming, joining sections, and even recovering from those “oops” moments. Each class includes guided instruction and a small project so you’ll leave every session with something finished — and the skills to keep going.
A curated Beginner FPP Kit will be available at Webfabrics, and students will receive a complimentary pattern designed by Shannon to support the class experience.

Session 1: Flip It, Stitch It, Nail It
Build the foundation of your FPP practice! Learn how to confidently place fabric, align your paper, and sew in the correct direction every time.

Explore the rulers, specialty papers, notions, and tips that make FPP easier and more accurate. Try them out hands-on and discover your favorites.
Session 4: Join the Party (Without the Bulk)
Learn the secrets to joining sections cleanly, pressing for precision, and matching tricky points with confidence.
Session 5: Oops Happens!
Mistakes are part of the process — and now you’ll know exactly how to fix them. Learn stress-free troubleshooting and paper-removal techniques so your blocks look their best.

What To Bring:
• This class is held upstairs at Webfabrics - you must be able to climb the stairs.
Bring your sewing machine, fabric scraps, thread, needle and other basic sewing tools. Come ready to have fun and learn!
