Knot + Thread Sew Along

Have you been wanting to try making bags but aren't quite ready for a formal class? Our Knot + Thread Sew Along is the perfect place to get started!

Bring any Knot + Thread bag pattern and enjoy a relaxed sewing session alongside fellow makers. Whether you're tackling your very first bag or returning to make another favorite pattern, you'll enjoy the encouragement, inspiration, and camaraderie of sewing with others.

This sew along is designed for those who are comfortable using their sewing machine and following a pattern but would appreciate a little extra support along the way. Webfabrics staff will be available throughout the session to answer questions, demonstrate techniques, and help you work through challenging steps. Please note that this is not a formal instructor-led class, and we will not be teaching a specific pattern from start to finish.

Who Should Attend?

This sew along is perfect for:

  • Anyone interested in learning bag-making techniques.
  • Beginners who have basic sewing skills and want a little extra confidence.
  • Experienced bag makers looking for dedicated sewing time.
  • Anyone who enjoys sewing with a creative community.

Before You Come

To make the most of your sewing time, please arrive prepared.

You will need:

  • A Knot + Thread bag pattern of your choice.
  • All fabrics, hardware, zippers, interfacing, and supplies required by your pattern.
  • Your sewing machine in good working order.
  • Basic sewing supplies, including thread, rotary cutter, scissors, clips, marking tools, and any specialty feet recommended by your pattern.

Important Preparation

Many Knot + Thread patterns require quilted fabric panels before bag construction begins.

Please arrive with all quilting completed and your quilted pieces prepared according to your pattern instructions. The sew along is intended to focus on constructing your bag, not quilting the fabric panels. Having your fabric quilted, pressed, and ready to cut (or already cut if your pattern recommends it) will help you get the most out of your sewing time.

If you're unsure how to prepare your fabric, stop by the shop before the event—we're happy to help you choose the right stabilizers, batting, and quilting method.
