The amount of fabric in one pound depends on the type of fabric and its weight. Generally, quilting cotton weighs around 4 to 5 ounces per yard.

So, for quilting cotton:

• 1 pound = 16 ounces.
• 16 ounces ÷ 4 to 5 ounces per yard = 3.2 to 4 yards.

Therefore, 1 pound of quilting fabric is approximately 3 to 4 yards, though this can vary slightly depending on the thickness or weight of the fabric.
